How we compare mattresses
Mattress Rank puts 27 mattresses from 9 Australian brands side by side, using what each brand publishes about its own mattresses. We don't test mattresses in a lab or sleep on them for you: we collect the facts that matter when you buy online and show them in one format, for your bed size.
Which mattresses are included
Mattress-in-a-box brands that sell online in Australia and publish their prices: Ecosa, Emma, Ergoflex, Eva, Koala, Macoda, Newentor, Origin, Sleeping Duck. We add brands and models over time.
Where the data comes from
- Prices, sizes, specs, trial and warranty come from each brand's own product page. Every mattress links to that page.
- Prices include GST and are the price the brand shows on the day we checked, including any sale price.
- Prices are checked by hand. Each mattress shows the date it was last checked; the newest check was 13 Oct 2026.
- If a brand doesn't say something (for example whether the cover is washable), we show "Not published" rather than guess.
Firmness
Brands describe firmness in different words, so we put every mattress on the same six-step scale, from soft to extra firm. The main firmness is how the mattress feels when it arrives. Some can be made softer or firmer, by flipping it, swapping a layer or choosing at checkout; the scale shows those options as a second marker.

When a brand's wording doesn't fit cleanly, we check it by hand and keep the brand's exact words on the mattress page.
Sizes and height
Prices and photos change with the bed size you pick. These are the standard Australian sizes; brands can differ by a few centimetres.

Height: slim is under 24 cm, standard 24 to 29 cm and thick 30 cm or more.
How results are ordered
The list is sorted by what you choose: price for your bed size (the default), longest trial or longest warranty. Some brands pay us a commission when you buy through our links. That never changes the order or what we show. See our affiliate disclosure.
